Daihatsu Boon Specifications
The Daihatsu Boon design has evolved over the years. There have been significant improvements in mileage, ergonomics and storage space over a brief period of fifteen years. The recent Boon models have significant advantages over their predecessors in terms of fuel consumption and ease of use.
In general, all Daihatsu Boon cars have the following specifications in common:
- Although the Boon is available in a 1.3L model as well, most Daihatsu Boon variants found on the Pakistani market have a 996 cc engine, which is very common for subcompacts. That said, 1.3L variants are also accessible.
- The engine used in Daihatsu Boon is 1KR-FE, which has won the “International Engine of the Year” award for four consecutive years from 2007-2010 in the sub-1.0 liter category
- It is a front engine, front wheel drive. However, you can also import a 4WD version.
- You can get either 4+1 speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic transmission
- Availability in only Petrol version
- The Boon is a 5-door hatchback
Design
Its design differs from other subcompacts significantly. In order to increase the storage space, the automaker opted for a flat rear with high tail lights. Apart from increasing the storage space, this feature increases the security of the vehicle as well since high tail lights increase the vehicle’s visibility even during rush hours and traffic jams. It has built-in Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) airbags for the driver and front passenger seats and curtain shield airbags for the rear seats. The Boon successfully combines utility, safety, fuel economy and compactness in one package. It comes with power steering and power windows as is customary with almost all cars manufactured after 2000.
Standout Features
The car combines two very attractive features: fuel economy and compactness. It is also, without doubt, the roomiest subcompact ever manufactured by Daihatsu. This spaciousness to this day remains its most attractive selling point. The 996cc Daihatsu Boon fuel consumption is around 22.1 km/L. The high fuel efficiency means that you could take long trips through the breathtakingly beautiful Pakistani landscapes without worrying about finding a gas-station every few hours.
Daihatsu Boon Price in Pakistan
The Boon is available in white, black, metallic grey, blue and a number of custom colors in Pakistan. The price of Daihatsu Boon 2007 is around PKR 800,000 and can go as high as PKR 1,700,000 for 2016 Boon. The prices depend on the mileage, condition, color and year of production.
Our Verdict
The Boon is ideal for a person looking to buy a small family car for both intercity and intracity usage. It comes pre-loaded with Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) system. The aftersale and spare parts aren’t a problem anymore. You can easily find all the parts here. If you are looking for a 1000cc car, the new Boon is one of the best choices.
